We’re very excited to bring back the Unmute Sound Engineering series! This new version of the course will look slightly different than the one offered earlier this year, consisting of only three sessions instead of six, but will still be taught by the wonderful DJ BJ Clark and offer participants opportunities for paid practicum experiences. See below for details:
What: A three-week series of beginner to intermediate level sound engineering classes for women, trans and nonbinary, and POC sound engineers
When: Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 pm, September 14th-28th
Created with support from the Urbana Arts and Culture Program, this course intends to aid in closing the representation gap in the typically white male dominated field of sound engineering. Women, trans and nonbinary, and BIPOC sound engineers in our community at the beginner to intermediate level are all encouraged to join. Even if you have no prior sound engineering experience, all you need is to be interested in learning!
If this sounds like something you’d like to participate in, please register at the link above by September 7th. We may not have the capacity to accept everyone who registers, so be on the lookout for a confirmation email. We hope to see you there!
