Request for Proposals (RFP)

The Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center (UCIMC) is seeking proposals for a consultant who will manage two stakeholder input sessions regarding facility accessibility. Our facility is located at 202 S. Broadway Avenue, Urbana, IL, known as the historic downtown Urbana post office building. 

Funding for this project is provided in part through a grant from the State of Illinois. Labor for any work associated with a contract award shall be paid prevailing wages. 

Consultant selection will prioritize individuals who have lived experience of mobility challenges. We believe in affirmative action in employment and contracting and will also prioritize minority-owned and women-owned businesses/individual contractors.

  • Summary of comments from stakeholder input sessions 
  • Summary report on barriers to accessibility with top 3 projects identified by stakeholders and community members

Project Overview 

  • Work with Executive Director to identify members and participants with mobility challenges - past and present
  • Schedule & create agenda for two stakeholder meetings - one with existing or past participants, one open to the public
  • Create email or flier and support outreach for stakeholder meetings
  • Facilitate two stakeholder meetings
  • Summarize findings and report to Board of Directors or Facilities Sub-Committee
