UC-IMC Fiscal Manager

General Description:
The UC-IMC Fiscal Manager is responsible for keeping accurate and current records of all the fiscal and financial needs, activities and programs of the IMC.

Qualifications:

  • an understanding of and commitment to the IMC and social justice work
  • mature judgment, strong organization and communication skills
  • proficiency with office software and technology, Quickbooks experience/ knowledge required
  • ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a diverse environment
  • familiar with state and federal payroll and sales tax codes governing non profit organizations
  • grant experience helpful

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •     enters accounts receivable and payable into QB’s
  •     prepares staff payroll and files payroll taxes
  •     prepares payment of bills
  •     prepares monthly invoices
  •     monitors rental payments and collects late payments
  •     prepares weekly bank deposits
  •     maintains financial records for all working groups
  •     maintains financial records for all grants
  •     maintains financial records for all fiscal sponsorships
  •     conducts monthly reconciliation reports
  •     prepares financial reports as requested by members, staff, and working groups
  •     enters paypal accounts and entries into QB’s
  •     maintain current files and record of all financial transactions
  •     assists with annual audit and any financial information needed by IMC staff or working groups
  •     handles all financial correspondence
  •     prepares purchase orders
  •     attends finance meetings
  •     monitors financial supplies, checks, etc.
  •     other financial matters as needed

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is $12 per hour for twenty hours a week.  There are no other benefits.

Supervision and Evaluation:
The Fiscal Manager will be supervised daily and evaluated at least annually by the Operations Manager.

Notice of Termination:
Notice of termination of employment by either party shall give a thirty-day notice.

AmeriCorps Positions

The UC-IMC AmeriCorps program works to support social and economic justice in Champaign County by placing members to serve the programs of the UC-IMC and its partners.

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance of $12,100; Half-time members receive a living allowance of $6,050, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify. After successfully completing your term of service, you will receive an AmeriCorps Education Award of up to $5,550. Start date is tentatively set for August 01, 2011. You must commit to one full year of service.  All positions are based on funding availability.
