Dec. 3: “Freeway” Rick Ross Making a Stop in Champaign, Thursday 6:30 pm at Boys and Girls Club

Come out Thursday night, Dec. 3, from 6:30-8:30 pm for a community dialogue with “Freeway” Rick Ross, drug kingpin-turned-community activist, and Enoch Muhammad who offers a “Hip Hop Detoxx.”

This event is being organized by CU Citizens for Peace and Justice in an effort to work with local youth in the wake of the tragic police shooting of 15 year-old Kiwane Carrington.

The event will be held at the Boys and Girls Club at 201 E. Park St. in Champaign.

Rick Ross was a pawn in the Iran-Contra scandal. He was supplied with kilos of pure cocaine by the CIA’s front man, Danilo Blandon, and the money that he paid was used to arm the Contras in Nicaragua. It is reported that Ross was the sole supplier for the Bloods and Crips in Los Angeles during the 1980s. Since then, Ross has turned his life around and now speaks about the dangers of the U.S. Drug War.
