WITJ is one of the sub-working groups of CUCPJ --Champaign-Urbana Center for Peace & Justice. Its current mission is to complete development of a proposal to restore parent-child physical contact visits to Champaign County jails --for both mothers and fathers who are incarcerated. Sheriff Walsh & Capt. Karee Voges have been very receptive to our ideas. Feel free to join us if you would like to help us to make this happen.

Women In The Jail (WITJ), a sub working group of IMC Affilliate, CUCPJ*, is proud & enthused to co-sponsor, with the IMC, its first public event. We will show the slides & air the audio for this webinar, anticipating that it will explain ways that law enforcement can help deter the loss of child custody that can attend parental arrest & incarceration. Sponsors of the webinar itself are Urban Institute and National Institute of Corrections. *Champaign-Urbana Citizens for Peace & Justice
Of course, you're free to register online for the webinar and then view it privately; but you may, instead, opt to drop in at the IMC to join us at our event for the public screen viewing of it. Here, in person, you could find out more about WITJ. We, as WITJ members, are currently continuing our mission to restore parent-child physcial contact visits to Champaign County jail.
